In addition to the one of a kind squared instrument panel case, the dial on the RAPTOR isn’t just for unique looks. It’s functional for real pilots.
Here’s why: most things in aviation – position fixing, reporting, ETA , ETC – are expressed in minutes past the hour. For example, if you’re over a target in the ocean at 27 minutes past the hour, the pilot reports it as “Callsign, position, minute 27.”
Back in the day, they would take this reading a step further and plot the aircraft’s position on a chart and note the time next to it (27) to monitor progress and be able to calculate groundspeed and wind strength/direction by working backwards between definite position fixes.
The RAPTOR’s dial makes reading the time this way quick and easy.
When you're up in the clouds thousands of feet above land, the sun is super bright! The last thing you need as a pilot is the sun's glare reflecting off your watch glass, blinding you. Or producing a reflection on the glass, making it difficult to even see the time.
To prevent glare and reflection, the genuine sapphire crystal on the RAPTOR is coated with an AR = anti-reflective coating to minimize glare and maximize visibility even in the brightest conditions.
All highend watches like Recon, Rolex, Patek, AP, Panerai, IWC, etc. ONLY use genuine sapphire crystals – not mineral glass like Tier 2 watch makers.
Rest assured, when you strap on your RAPTOR and look at the time, you’ll be looking though sapphire crystal as well. The only thing harder than the crystal we use on the RAPTOR is a diamond.
In other words… you’re not scratching it, no matter what you do to it.
The RAPTOR features an oversized crown, designed so it’s quick and easy to change time even in-flight with gloves on. It's unique design that guarantees it’s water-tight to 50 meters, or 150 feet.
That’s like swimming down 15 stories!
I doubt you’ll ever swim that deep, but it’s good to know you can strap on your RAPTOR and hit the pool, ocean or shower without worrying about damaging it.
The RAPTOR dial features large minutes, small 1-12 hours (in orange, to pay homage to the MA-1 jacket) plus 13-24 "military" hours. The dial’s design is inspired by military techniques. Techniques of marking for maximum legibility and a unique look you can’t find anywhere else.
In combat situations, having perfectly "synchronized" time amongst the entire team is required. How do you sync a watch? Well you can't unless it is a "hacking" movement. The movement in our Raptor does hack. Hacking means when the crown is pulled out to its furthest position, it stops the second-hand cold.
Basically ‘freezing’ the time.
The team will all set their hours and minutes... and then all but one team member will pull their crowns out at :00 seconds, stopping the watch. Now, one team member who left his crown in will count down "5... 4... 3... 2... 1... SET"
So when his seconds-hand reaches :00 and after he says "set" the rest of the team will push their crowns in, restarting their watch. This way every team member's watch will be synced down to the second.
In regular life, we'd probably sync our watch to our iPhone's clock. But it’s still a cool “military” feature!
Not only did we design the dial of the RAPTOR to look like a fighter jet cockpit… we took it a step further and made the case look like the outside of a stealth jet, using a special matte black finish you won’t find on any other watch. You’ll be amazed at how close the color and feel is to a military fighter jet.
Why did we go through all that trouble and expense?
Simple… because small things make perfection.
The RAPTOR Is Water Resistant To 150 Feet. You can even swim with your RAPTOR on without any worries. When it comes to water resistance, the military would almost classify this pilot’s watch as a "dive" watch.
While you may never find yourself 150 feet underwater, it's nice to know you can wear this watch in the pool... in the shower... in the rain.
I can’t say that about many "pilot" watches… even ones costing thousands of dollars more.
The hands and crucial markers on the RAPTOR are coated in a special luminescent material that makes it visible even in the darkest of cockpits. It charges up in sunlight and glows in the dark… simple, like it should be.
Chances are you won’t be reading the time in a dark cockpit at 30,000 feet, but the glowing watch dial and hands sure look awesome in a movie theatre or restaurant.
Watches like Rolex or AP have cogs and springs. The cogs and springs need lubricant or they’re not going to work right. This is why if you have a Rolex, you already know you’ve got to service that watch every few years.

What makes the RAPTOR so unique and desirable is the Swiss movement we use in your watch has a special "dry" design that never needs servicing or lubricants and is more accurate than watches costing $10,000, $25,000 or even $50,000!
When you’re flying a fighter jet at 1600 MPH, accuracy is crucial. This is why we use a dry design Swiss movement that doesn’t need servicing or any lubricants.

The G-Forces in fighter planes can exceed 9g's! Mere mortals would pass out under half that force. Do you think an ordinary watch is going to keep ticking under that kind of gravitational force? Sorry.
The Swiss movement in the RAPTOR is not only accurate to within +/-0.07 seconds a day... but it's virtually unaffected by shock... gravity... temperature... and magnetic forces.
You'd have to stick the RAPTOR in an MRI machine to affect its time-keeping ability. And even then, we're talking fractions of seconds a day.
The RAPTOR would still be 2X -3X times as accurate as the best Rolex... even if we measured our watch while in an MRI machine on full blast!
The RAPTOR is also built according to mil-spec. Mil-S-46383B, to be exact. The strap is made from heavy-duty nylon and is extremely comfortable.
Why a NATO strap? Well, a NATO strap is a 1-piece strap that is inserted over the top spring bar. It then goes under the case and up and out the bottom spring bar. The reason for this? If a spring bar failed on a 2-piece watch strap, the watch would fall off. If a spring bar failed on a NATO strap... it would still be attached to the other spring bar.
Best of all, NATO straps can be purchased very inexpensively, so you can change the look of your watch every day if you want. This is why many Rolex owners are replacing their uncomfortable metal bracelet with ultra-comfortable and better looking NATO straps.
What if you don’t want a NATO strap? No problem, we use standard size lugs so you can quickly and inexpensively replace the current strap with leather, steel, rubber or any other strap you want.
